What should I expect at my first visit?
We strive to create a truly caring and comfortable environment for our patients. You can expect to be greeted by name and welcomed with a smile. During the new patient exam we will listen to your concerns, complete a thorough exam, and develop a plan that helps us meet your goals. We will also take time with you to answer any questions you may have. A new patient visit usually is scheduled for one hour. Give us a call today at 501-664-1511.
Do you accept my dental insurance?
We are in network providers for many major dental plans. We will work to maximize your dental benefits and minimize your out of pocket costs. As a courtesy to you we gladly file claims with your insurance carrier and we are happy to do the legwork of verifying your insurance coverage so you don’t have to call an insurance company. Give Emily a call today at 501-664-1511 and she will be glad to guide you on how your insurance works best with our office!
What payment methods do you accept? Patient Financing?
We accept all major credit cards including American Express. We are pleased to offer patient financing through CareCredit. Ask us about how CareCredit can help you get the dental care you need with a financial plan that works for you.

What age should my child first visit the dentist?
We value making a child’s first visit to the dentist a fun experience. If you have a concern about your child’s oral health at any age it is always best to let us take a look. Generally speaking around 18mo-2 years old is a great age for a child’s first dental visit.

Do you offer veneers?
Yes. Veneers can be a great way to achieve the smile you have always wanted. Dr. Houk has a proven system to get you the smile you want using predictable steps that allow for input from the patient, dentist, and dental laboratory. This process allows for beautiful smiles and happy patients!
Do you offer teeth whitening?
Yes. We offer two whitening products. One is a take home system with custom made bleaching trays and the other is a in-office procedure that can quickly brighten your smile!
Do I really need to floss?
Yes you do. Brushing your teeth is great but does not clean between your teeth as effectively as flossing can. Next time you floss take a close look at the debris collected on the piece of floss. Use that as motivation to make flossing a daily habit as that debris feeds the bacteria that causes tooth decay and gum disease.
Are digital x-rays safe?
Digital x-rays are more accurate, use less radiation, and are much quicker than traditional x-rays. In fact, the dose of radiation the patient is exposed to on a routine dental check up is less than the amount a patient is exposed to if they climbed Pinnacle mountain here in Little Rock.
Check out this chart to learn more about dental x-rays.
Do you offer sedation dentistry?
As a general dentist office we offer sedation using nitrous oxide in combination with one prescription drug. By listening to our patients and providing gentle care we are able to serve many patients who are fearful of going to the dentist.
